A public administrative body with legal personality and financial autonomy, the National Port Authority (APN) was created by law no. 98/021 of December 24, 1998 and its implementing decree no. 99/126 of June 15, 1999. It is a technical body attached to the government for the implementation of port policy in Cameroon. A linchpin in the coordination and monitoring of port activities, the APN plays an important role in the process of building an emerging Cameroon by 2035, through the enhancement and promotion of the port area in Cameroon.
